Howdy,

I am an artist!

Originally from Southwest Texas, you guessed it, western is my style! I moved to Huntsville, Arkansas in 1971. I am fortunate to live in this beautiful state on Venus Mountain with my husband.  I love the natural beauty,  the lovely sunsets we have, and the sweet smells on a country road in the evenings, rain and my horse. Among all these great things, I love my animals.  I live where I can have seven beautiful horses, one mule, three faithful dogs, seven hunting dogs. We raise registered Hereford cattle and Black Angus Cattle.  As a child, I was first interested in drawing horses.  I have had a lifelong love of horses that continues to this day.  I have always had a special dog and still do. I have never known life without my animals and never will.

I never owned a set of paints or brushes until I moved to Arkansas and started taking classes from local artists.   Still, for several years, my painting was off and on due to work and raising my family.   I have four lovely children, and nine beautiful grandchildren. Retiring from hairdressing after 43 years I decided it was time to try my hand at painting all my horses and dogs.  Before long, others were requesting custom paintings of their beloved animals.  I have enjoyed working with my clients to create lasting memories of treasured animals and people in their lives.

I enjoy riding my horse Ringo in the beautiful Ozarks.   I always have my camera ready when I ride so that once I get home to my studio I am ready to choose my next painting.  Most likely, it will have a horse or some kind of animal in it.  The medium I use is oil on canvas and my style is realist. The subjects that I create are from the heart. I hope to give the viewer a feeling of joy and warmth whether it's a cowboy or cowgirl on their horse, a delightful child, or a beautiful animal.

I have never shown my paintings in a gallery, but I have entered many in County and District Fairs.  You can view my  Grand Champions and Best Of Shows on this site under Home.  In 2014, "The Mule", received "Best Of Show" in the district fair.  In 2015  I entered two of my paintings in the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock I won 1st. place with my mule painting called "Festus" and 2nd. place with my bull painting called " Get Outta Of My Way ".

I still take painting classes whenever I can, because I've found that I can always learn something from others who love to paint as much as I do.

I thank God for the talent He has given me!

Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy my work,
